Be a Summer Reader

Share the Love of Reading with Club Members
The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge is operating eight Club sites this summer. Each morning starts with breakfast and Harambee, meaning "let’s pull together” in Kiswahili.
Harambee includes a read-aloud guest where an adult from the community visits the Club and reads to our members.
The Club is currently looking for more than 100 volunteers to serve as Read Aloud Guests this summer. Guests
are free to select any children’s story to read.
If you do not have a favorite story, the Club would be happy to provide one for you.
If you're interested in volunteering and showing our members how important reading is to their future, please contact Onya Carter, Director of Volunteer Services.
When: Monday - Friday, June 11-July 12
Where: All Club sites
Time: 8:30 - 9 a.m. |
